We the people have lost our rightful say in how we are governed.
We can still vote – but donors choose the candidates we’re allowed to vote.
Americans have said for years that the system isn’t working. Politicians don’t listen to us in either party. They don’t care what we think or what we need. The fact is that they can’t afford to care. They’re too busy raising campaign cash and catering to their wealthy donors. Here in the land of the free, the country that invented government by the people, we the people are no longer masters in our own house.
Politicians spend 20–30 hours a week chasing donations from corporations, billionaires, and lobbyists. It’s no wonder the government isn’t working for the rest of us. Our political system isn’t broken by accident. It’s broken because our leaders depend on wealthy donors to fund their campaigns and those donors call the shots.
The result? Politicians ignore voters and serve corporate interests. We can’t fix hospitals, schools, or roads because someone with money always finds a reason to block it. The system works great for a few but fails the rest of us. Even good candidates can’t compete unless they raise big money.
